Shannon Carter:
We have three biological and two foster kids.
Ronnie Wilson:
Okay, for how long have you been coming to see Dr. Bonnett and his staff?
Shannon Carter:
About eight and half years. Our oldest is eight, so since right before he was born.
Ronnie Wilson:
And how did you learn about Luke and his staff? And what was it that motivated you or compelled you to choose him as your pediatrician?
Shannon Carter:
Well our oldest son – we found out while I was pregnant – that he was going to be born with some heart defects. And so choosing a pediatrician was a big deal. He was the first one we thought of because we wanted to be at Chapin. We came and talked to him while I was still pregnant and let him know what we were going to be facing to make sure he felt comfortable with that. He prayed with us and he just made us feel sure that he would do his best to take care of Derek. So we felt good and all of the rest have come here as well.
Ronnie Wilson:
How have you and Derek found the level of care?
Shannon Carter:
Phenomenal, he – Dr. Bonnett – is very proactive! Even when our specialists aren’t always as good as we feel like we want them to be, we can come here and get what we need, whatever we need ordered or whatever. So he’s made us feel very comfortable and very safe, secure.
Ronnie Wilson:
And among the other people on his staff whom you’ve gotten acquainted with, what have your experiences been with some of them?
Shannon Carter:
They’ve always been great — always work us in. They let us come in when we need to come. We’re here a lot. Everybody has always been kind, friendly, and helpful. We love them all.
