Now that you’re in your new building and you’ve been in your building for ten months – let\u2019s say ten-plus months, probably – why don’t you offer us, if you would, a quick pulse on how you think the new building, the new space, the amount of space, the way it’s configured has enhanced the practice and benefited parents and patients alike.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Luke Bonnett:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thank you; so anybody that did go to the old office recognized, through the years, how cramped it got, how we had outgrown it. And the benefit of being in this new building has been multiple. Number one: parents appreciating the newness, the spaciousness of it, having two separate waiting rooms – truly a well room and a sick waiting room – having a nursing mothers’ room where a baby can be breastfed in a quiet place … just the space, the amount of space … being able to see bright colors, seeing beautifully adorned walls with art is wonderful for the parents; the children love that. Of course our staff has thrived in seeing the newness. They were very patient in seeing this forthcoming and then to see them have their own spaces, seeing their attitudes being enhanced, improved by having a place to come to work that they’re proud of, quite frankly. And personally, I’ve experienced that too – just having meetings before … we had no place to meet. I would use an old exam room as a place to meet and now there\u2019s just plenty of space to have folks come in and it’s been wonderful.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ronnie Wilson:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Awesome. You’ve added a couple of new providers in the last year. Would you offer their names and speak to a bit about who they are and what they add to you guys work atmosphere and your care atmosphere?<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Luke Bonnett:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Absolutely. Julie Edwards comes to us as a nurse practitioner – well known in the Chapin community, which has been wonderful. She’s been well known and well loved for years. She even served at one time in the school as a school nurse and then pursued her Nurse Practitioner degree. She worked in a family practice before coming to us – but comes to us with a wealth of experience and again the community knows her and knows the quality of care that she offers, knows her background … just wonderful for us. She fits right into our family type environment, fits right into who we are – and so she’s been a wonderful asset to have. Dr. Kimberly Bolen: she’s a young lady from Irmo … has been in this area all of her life … went to USC, went to USC School of Medicine, trained at Palmetto Health Children\u2019s Hospital, which is a wonderful thing too because she knows about our community. When families need resources outside of us, she’s not had to learn those; she’s keenly aware of those.
